I've never met Miles Davis.
But I trust his judgment more than many people I have met.
Not as a person.
He may or may not have given great financial advice. Or relationship advice.
But I trust his judgment when he chooses the next note.
When I listen to his records, I can hear the emotion, the tension, the atmosphere. All created through a series of choices.
We do this all the time.
We trust artists we've never met.
Writers we've never met.
Philosophers we've never met.
We infer judgment from the work.
AI can produce answers instantly.
The question is whether it can demonstrate good judgment.
Just like with Miles, I'd look for a pattern of good choices over time.
And just like with Miles, I haven't met an AI - and I never will.
I'll trust it one good answer at a time.
